BIG JOHN HOOKS GRAND SLAM!! Big John Knight, from Arnolo, MD, hooked a grand slam today, but cause we had some others join his makeup group, he graciously passed the rod off on a big sailfish he hooked at the end of the day to Chris Leishman, from Newport News, VA, who then caught his first billfish. Earlier, we had a few dolphin on, and I slowed the boat to get them when a blue marlin charged a teaser.....I speeded the boat up and pulled the teaser to the boat away from the hot blue one......Lee grabbed a dink bait and slid it back there, but Big John grabbed a blue marlin pitch bait, knocked Lee out of the way and fired that back there....HOOKED UP 250# BLUE MARLIN.... John gagged the poor critter.....and released it after an exciting 20 minute battle. We had good action but tough luck earlier in the day, with John and Tony each hooking a double header white marlin and damm if they both didn't fall off with the leaders in sight.... and then I very adeptly ZING POWED one on the bridge and we pulled off another white as well! But it was a great day in the end! 0 Comments For older fishing reports and photos please go to our archives
